Warrumbungle Wiltshires: Wiltshire Horn Sheep Breeders
Dave and Dawn Keirle
We first became interested in Wiltshire Horn sheep after reading a magazine article on the breed.
Thinking that what we’d read was too good to be true, we decided to follow up with some research on the internet and by talking to, and visiting, breeders in the area. Our interest was sparked and we decided that Wiltshire Horn sheep would be ideal for our property.
This has proven to be true with the easy care, minimal handling, and gentle, inquisitive nature of the breed fitting in with our busy lifestyle.
"Auberge"
Our property “Auberge” is situated in the upper Timor Valley near Siding Springs Observatory and the Warrumbungle National Park, west of Coonabarabran in NSW.Our sheep graze on the native grass pastures of the volcanic Warrumbungle mountains in an environment of fresh mountain breezes and spring fed streams at the base of the monolithic Mopra Rock.
Our aim is to maintain the integrity of the breed using purebred rams and ewes to produce offspring that will adhere to the traditional English originality of Wiltshire Horn sheep.
We are members of Australian Stud Sheep Breeders Association Flock no. 270 and Wiltshire Horn Sheepbreeders Association. We have both registered breeding stock and commercial stock for meat production.
See our Sales Page for available stock listings.
We hope this site sparks an interest for you as our initial research did for us.
We invite you to contact us for more information about these hardy, easy care sheep.
